Sabrina Carpenter's much-anticipated new album "Short 'n Sweet" just dropped, along with this music video for "Taste" directed by Dave Meyers, and edited by me. A pop star at the top of her game and a verified scream queen killing (and kissing) each other in a three minute fight scene overflowing with slasher film tropes? Hell yes. The video was #1 on Google Trends in the U.S. the day it came out, too.

Acura entered the new world of electric vehicles with the multiverse treatment, in a spot helmed by veteran music video director Dave Meyers. The challenge in the edit was fitting in all the wild universes and crazy ideas. I had a blast going full-throttle with the edit, and then seeing it all come to life in the trippy, VFX-heavy final spot. I love a commercial that doesn't feel like a commercial, and I think the 41M people that watched it on YouTube would agree.

The NHL's Arizona Coyotes were revamping their design and embracing their diverse fanbase, and needed a spot dedicated to the fans. Using a mix of new footage shot for the campaign, along with some archival game clips, I cut a thirty second rallying cry. In lieu of music, I scored the spot with a symphony of hockey and desert sounds. This spot helped set the tone for the in-your-face rebrand, which ended up taking home a gold Clio for Brand Identity.

You don't need millions of dollars to make a music video, you just need a cool visual approach and a bumpin' edit. I provided the latter on this one for up-and-coming Detroit hip-hop artist whiterosemoxie.

For the launch of the next-gen Acura Integra, we partnered with next-gen artist Vince Staples to make a commercial to be featured on the NBA Finals. We were supposed to pick one song off his forthcoming album "Ramona Park Broke My Heart" but one song turned into three, after we cooked up a trio of spots while on set with Vince. Each spot has it's own unique editorial approach that reflects the energy of each song.

For the launch of Google Play, we created a series of spots that featured famous fictional characters browsing Google Play's movies, books, & music. The stories were told entirely in the platform’s UI. It was a really fun limitation to play with in the edit. Let’s just say I became a pro at adding personality to a mouse cursor when the project was over.

Remember when Trump became president and had a string of bizarre handshake moments with world leaders? A buddy of mine had the hilarious idea of over-cutting '80s arcade-style graphics and sound effects onto Trump's diplomatic wrist battles - and American Hand Fighter II was born. This still makes me laugh.

I got to cut my own version of the Kennedy assassination in this video for National Geographic Channel's www.kennedyandoswald.com, winner of 6 Cannes Lions.

I've made my fair share of heritage commercials that were found-footage, piecemeal jobs. Not this one. For Same DNA I got to tell a visceral story of Acura's history, and highlight the thread that connects it all - Acura's never-quit energy. The beautiful, gritty, and meticulously-crafted footage was a joy to work with, and I really had fun with the overall edit on this one. I still can't believe they let us show a car break.

Every once in a while I'll participate in a film race. You know the, "Make a movie in 4 days!" sorta thing. I did this one with my kids and a bunch of xmas decorations for the 100 Hour Film Race. We had a blast getting into some light puppeteering, and it took home the Best Editing award. (But shoulda won the Cutest Kids award IMO)
